Hmm, not sure what the issue could be. Try using a slightly different password, like change one or two characters but keep it to something you can remember, or just write it down. I didnt have a problem making a side account on a free-to-play version using a second email, though it wouldn't let me use the same password for both.
If the code doesn't arrive within sixty minutes*, you can either wait longer (we’ve had reports of codes suddenly delivering after an hour or so) or contact our support team for help changing your authentication options. If you end up receiving your code while waiting for a reply, simply let us know so we can close out your ticket!
If a Guild Wars 2 account is linked, both your Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 passwords will be changed to the same password. Changing your account name on that site may result in you not being able to login to the game.
I found my serial code by doing a search on my gmail inbox, at first it didn't work when searching for "guild wars" or "guild wars 2", the fact is that the email containing the serial code was sent by "arenanet", and that's where I found it.

The gw2 website really doesn't work well. If you managed to change the PW: Make sure to check that AFTER changing your password that it works in the GAME CLIENT. I had similar problems a few weeks ago. The website wouldnt let me login after changing my password, but the game did. It took support 6 days to answer.
